OPERATIC SOCIETY.
The fourteenth annual meeting of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society was held last night, the chairman, Mr. F. E. de Guerrier, presiding. It was reported that the membership was satisfactory and that several generous donations of books had been received for the society's library. In May Planquette's "Les Cloches de Cornevillc" would be presented to the library. Following are the officers for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. F. Earl, K.C.; vicepresidents, Messrs. E. Anderson, E. R. Davis, A. M. Ferguson, J. F. Ewcn, V. J. Larner, E. J. Prendergast, Oliver Nicholson, P. H. Upton and Dr. W. H. Parkes; committee, Misses Ethel Rae and C. C. Ince, and Messrs. F. E. de Guerrier, J. H. Jackson, W. J. Crowther, L. Alfred Eady, R. B. Giesen, N. B. Levien, C. B. Plummer, C. M. Prime, R. T. Sawers, J. P. Stevenson and R. W. Strong; honorary auditor, Mr. N. A. Duthie; secretary, Mr. W. Laird Thomson.
