MINE MANAGER'S REPORT.

Golconda.—During the week the motor has been installed. We have lowered the pump and put in a new 4in rising main. The water rose to the top of the chamber at the 70ft level. We have unwatered this' level and also 15ft below the bottom of the ] chamber. All the machinery is working well and the pump is throwing about half as much water again as previously. The winze on the footwall dropper was advanced to a depth of 14ft. Good colours and dabs of gold have been seen in the ore broken out. Long Trail.—No. 2 leaded, cross lode: The face has been advanced 32ft east towards the- Junction of No. 3 leader, making 16ft for the week. The ore in the face is high grade, and the quartz obtained from the last breaking down showed a few colours of gold. The west tunnel was advanced to 34ft. making 17ft for the week. The leader continues to produce high grade ore, and some nice gold was seen here also. No. 3 leader: The tunnel on the leader was advanced to 40ft, making Oft for the week. The ore in the face is poor. No. 1 reef, 100 ft level: At a point 20ft in from the crosscut a rise will be put up to enable the block of ore showing in No. 2 winze to be mined.
