AMERICAN TENNIS TEAM.

NOTED MISSION WORKER.

En route to Vancouver, the Aorangi arrived at Auckland this morning and berthed at the Prince's wharf "at eight o'clock. There were 152 passengers for Auckland and 69 through passengers. The American . tennis team, after a strenuous tour in the Commonwealth, returned to Auckland. They leave this evening for Wellington, where the first Test against New Zealand will commence on Wednesday. Three members of the team, Messrs. E. Vines, J. Van Ryn and W. Allison, are accompanied by their wives. The fourth player is Mr. K. Gledhill.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Tillerton left the vessel to make a short holiday tour of the North Island before returning to South America, and thence to their villa in France. Mr. Tillerton has been visiting relatives in Adelaide.

Mrs. W. Coleman, of Auckland, with her daughter, Miss Ruby Coleman, and Mr. Clive Coleman, returned home after a twelve months' holiday abroad. Dr. F. A. Wilsener, an eye specialist of Sydney, is making a holiday trip to Fiji.

The chairman of the Methodist Mission in the Solomon Islands, the Rev. F. J. Goldie, returned to Auckland on furlough, after spending a further three years in the mission fields. Mr. Goldie, who was joined in Australia by Mrs. Goldie, has spent 31 years in the Jiethodist mission work in the Solomons.
