BOY DROWNED IN CREEK.

DISAPPEARED AFTER. DIVE.

The inquest touching the death of John Henry Garrit, eight years, son of Mr. J. H. Garrit, of 871, New North Koad, Mount Albert, who was drowned while bathing in the Oakley Creek yesterday afternoon, was concluded by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning.

Frank Shridsky, agecl seven, cousin of deceased, said ho went with Garrit for a bathe in a pool in the creek. Garrit took off his clothes and remarked: "You watch how I swiiu." He then dived in and after coming up three times, disappeared. After waiting some time for Garrit to come up again Shridsky became alarmed and ran to inform Mr. Garrit, who with Mr. T. C. Payne, hurried to the scene and recovered the body in five feet of water. The coroner returned a verdict of accidental drowning.
