AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS,
TO-NIGHT'S SENIOR CARNIVAL.
The Auckland senior swimming championships ■will be decided in the Tepid Baths this evening. Lately, the city's leading swimmers have been showing brilliant form, and this has heightened Interest in this evening's carnival. In the 100 yds and 220 yds men's championships It. Thomas and R. Frankham are regarded as the chief contenders, and they are likely to stage a most exciting race, perhaps in New Zealand record time. . Miss Marie Farquhnr is expected to retain the 100 yds ladies' title in time faster than Miss Ena Stockley's record. Exceptionally fast times should also be registered in the remaining championship events. The water polo match will be between the two champion teams, Ponsonby A and Waitemata A. HELENSVILLE CLUB. The second carnival of the Helensville Swimming Club was held last Saturday evening, when about 200 spectators and swimmers were present. H. Colmore Williams again secured the 100 yards club championship in the club record time of 61 3-ss. C. Keane improved considerably to win the open handicap in 28s.
