ONE MONTH.
LENGTH OF SESSION. MR. FORBES' ESTIMATE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. It is estimated by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. AV. Forbes, that not more than a month should be required by the Government to complete the work of the session.
Mr. Forbes said lust night that h'c did not think there would be a great deal of new legislation for presentation to Parliament after it resumed next Thursday, and he surmised that members would not be keen to remain for longer than was absolutely necessary. The remainder of the session would be devoted to giving effect to legislation necessary for the prosecution of the Government's emergency policy programme. Nearly all the minor bills on the Order Paper would be held over.
Members of the Coalition party will meet in caucus on Tuesday.
