ROYAL ARTIST'S CUP. AUTOPAY IS SECOED LEG. HULA BELLE'S RUAPEHU. RULING LIGHT SHINES AGAIN. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.'*) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting opened at Trentham to-day in fine and warm weather. The track was in first-class order. The attendance was .good. The win and place system of betting proved popular, and the dividends for third horses were consistently good, •while the three straight-out prices' of Jtoyal Artist, Guarantee and Broken 3tule were very substantial. The totalisator figures were: — Straight-out, £733G; place, £14,475; "total, £21,811. On the first day last jear the totalisator handled £26~,483 10/. Beau Gallante (High-weight) and Guarantee (Stakes) were the opening two winners, later results being (the first figure showing the straight-out and the second figure the place of favouritism): —
