WANGANELLA'S OFFICERS.
CAPTAIN BATES IN COMMAND. The mast of the Huddart-Parker Company's new motor vessel Wanganella, which is. on her maiden voyage to New Zealand and is to make her first appearance at Auckland on January 31, is Captain G. Bates. Formerly master of the Westralia, Captain Bates brought the Wanganella from England to Australia. Several of the motor ship's officers were in the Zealandia, which maintained the company's New Zealand service until recently. The principal officers on the ship are as follow: First officer, Mr. T. Laidler; second, Mr. W. Brown; third, Mr. B. Carrington; fourth, Mr. S. Kommoll; chief engineer, Mr. J. Wylie; second, Mr. J. McGregor; third, Mr. J. Irwin; fourth, Mr. T. Rolf; chief electrician, Mr. J. Lowry; wireless operator, Mr. G. Vincent; purser, Mr. T. Winter; chief steward, Mr. W. Fookes.
