DOMAIN MATCHES.

GOOD ALL-ROUND PLAY.

STRONG OPENING BY R.V.

CENTURIES TO BAMBURY AND

ROBERTSHAW.

The senior teams of the Auckland City and Suburban Association entered upon the third match in the competition with a marked keenness in both batting and fielding departments, and the interest of patrons was well sustained to the call of time, despite unpropitious weather.

Occupying pride of place on No. 2 wicket, R.V. settled down early to their innings against Harbour Board as indicated by a score of 246 for three wickets, the not out men being Bambury (105) and Metge (17). Prior to the ovation accorded the former, who gave a ehancelcss display in well-varied strokes, Guiniven pleased for a fine fighting" performance for 93. Cloke (20) also showed good form.

Consistently meritorious bowling by Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys greatly troubled the advance batting forces of Invicta, and it brooked, until 3.30 p.m.— with five wickets down for 33 runs—the possibility oi a rout, which was happily arrested by George Morman (75) and Everitt (31). The total was 161. Mills and Butler trundled well for Mount Albert, who opened their reply under unfavourable conditions with two wickets for 22 runs.

Ponsonby scored 298 against Green Lane, the best contributipns being by linnes (54), A. Lewis, and W. Robertshaw (105). The latter's display was in the nature of a sensation for its hat trick of sixes and runs of boundaries. He knocked up the last 40 of his runs in twenty-five minutes. Kerr and McGhie were Green Lane's best bowlers. Scores:— R.V. V. HARBOUR BOARD. R.V. —First Innings. S. Guiniven, c Wetherill, b N. Martin 03 N. Goldsworthy, c Chceseman, b Mann 3 Cloke, b N.
