Strawberry prices at the city markets this morning ranged from 8d to 9sd a chip, with better qualities at 1/1 and 1/14In reply to an inquiry to-day the director of a city produce mart said that there was always a slump in strawbeiry prices on Monday morning, due, in the main, to the fact that there was no picking on Saturday, since there were no sales on Sunday, and double the quantity was picked on Sunday. The prices this morning were about on a par with those of last year. He said that Friday was the best selling day for strawberries, although prices were sometimes better on other dajta.
