DEVONPORT BURGLARY.
£48 STOLEN FROM SATE. THIEVES ENTER BY WINDOW. During the absence of Mr. R. G. Coutts from his home at Arawa Avenue, Devonport, between 9 o'clock on Saturday night and 12.30 yesterday morning, thieves entered the house, after forcing a side ■window, and stole £48 from a safe in one of tne rooms. The money belonged to the Cheltenham Bus Company, in which Mr. Coutts is a partner. Before leaving the house, Mr. Coutts locked the safe, but on returning he found it open. ATTEMPT ■ AT TAKAFUNA. On Saturday night thieves attempted' to enter the shop of J. Bees George and Company, chemists, at Lake Road, Takapuna. Damage was done to the front door of the shop by a jemmy. It appeared that the operators were disturbed while they were trying to force I the door.
