MEETING AT WHANGAREI.
I (By Telegraph.—Qwn Correspondent.) ! WHA3STGAEEI, this day. The annual meeting of the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce was held last night with 25 members present. The halance-sheet showed that the . year plosed with £15 17/ in the bank. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. C. V. Stringer; vice-president, Mr. H. Menzies; auditor, Mr. J. D. Mitchell; executive council, Messrs. E. H. Allan, T. Mitchell, St.-C. tfounneaux, D. L. Ross, L. C. Trembath, P. S. B. Morrison and J. W. Parkin; postal committee, Messrs. H. W.' Crawford, G. Marshall and J. A. Finlayson; shipping committee, Messrs. F. Farmer, li. C. Trembath and J. Woolley; railway committee, Messrs. K, H. Allan, S. Weston and H. Menzies; traders' executive, grocers, Mr. L. Feist; drapers, Messrs. L. C. Trembath and G. Bethell; chemists, Mr. J. Woolley; fancy goods, Mr. D. J. Baker; hardware, Mr. K. Drumttond; hairdressers, Mr. H. Preebe; Mr. W. U. Timewell; motors, Mr. S. Weston.
