NEW ZEALAND MARKSMEN.

SUCCESS IN AUSTRALIA.

Mr. H. L. Rule, of the Petone Rifle Club, Wellington, arrived in Auckland by the Zealandia yesterday, after a visit to Australia, where he was a member of the New Zealand rifle team which competed in the N.R.A. championship meeting on the Liverpool ranges, Sydney. "All our fellows did very well," said Mr. Rule. "J. C. Carter, the captain, finishing seventeenth in the prize list for the 'King's/' in which there were about 800 competitors, from every State in the Commonwealth."

The New Zealand four-man team (Messrs. R. H. Nicoll, A. H. O'Donnell, E. A. Ballinger and T. J. Chapman) won the Tiles match, in which over 20 teams competed.
