OBITUARY.

MR. GEORGE ARMSTRONG. A well-known resident of Akaroa, Mr. George Armstrong, died at Ghristchurch on November 6, in his eightieth year. He was Mayor of Akaroa for nearly 30 years, and at the time of his death was a member of the Peninsula Power Board, the North Canterbury Hospital Board and had been chairman at various times of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, the Takernatua Dairy Company and the Peninsula Horse Show. Mr. Armstrong retired from farming in 1912, and during the war did a lot of service in patriotic movements. He was a keen bowler.
