RAILWAY CHIEF'S DEATH.

At the monthly mooting of the Auckland branch of the Railway Officers' Institute, held last evening, reference was made to the death of Mr. P. G. Roussell in Auckland this week. The chairman, Mr. F. G. J. Temm, spoke of the personal esteem in which the late general manager was hold by railway officers, throughout the Dominion, and mentioned that he had for many years been closely associated with the railways in • the Auckland district, and was personally known to many Auckland officers. He was a man of outstanding ability and was one who understood the aims and aspirations of the staff. The meeting passed a vote of sympathy with Mrs. Roussell and family.
