Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Craig, Symon.ds Street, left by the Maunganui to-day on a visit to Australia. Miss Peggy Fisher has left Christchurch to pay a short visit to Mrs. Maurice O'Rorkc, Mount Oakden, and •will leave to-morrow to-visit her father in Auckland. Mrs. H. Schofield, of Matamata, is visiting Wellington and Hawkc's Bay, and will he the guest of her aunts, Mrs. Collison, of Hastings, and Mrs. T. Holden, sen., of Gisborne. Miss Cherry Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anderson, of Bassett Road, Remuera, who has resided ill London the,last two ybars, is returning to the Dominion by the Tainaroa, arriving in Auckland next Thursday. * * * * Miss Bromley Cocks, Ranfurly Street, Christchureh, left yesterday for the North Island, where she will first visit her niece, Mrs. Robert Alford, Cambridge, and later will go to Auckland, where she will be the gUeSt of Mrs. Ferguson, Remuera. * * * * Lady Newton (Heremonie Piripi), who has lived many years in England, and returned recently to visit her daughter, Mrs. Greenfield, of Manurewa, has gone to Rotorua to attend the funeral of her niece. Miriam Wikl, who was a sister of Bella Papakura, the well-known guide.
