DANGEROUS SIGN.

Quarter's Deficit in America £125,977,800. STATE OF FINANCES. WASHINGTON, November 3. It is announced that the Federal deficit for the first four months of the current fiscal year totals 629,589,000 dollars (about £125,977,800 at par). Although this is 440,086,000 dollars less than for the corresponding period of last year, it is considered to be an even more dangerous sign of the state of the finances of the Government, because of the extraordinary taxation measures enacted by the last Congress in the hope of balancing the Budget.
