AWARDS FOR BRAVERY.
RESCUES IN CANTERBURY.

CHRISTCHURCH, Monday.
Awards for bravery were made today by the court of directors of the Royal Humane Society as follows:— Godfrey James Healey, aged 26, who rescued Joseph N. Mafthire from drowning at Governor's Bay on August 14, 1931, letter of commendation; James Kean, aged 18, who rescued Mrs. Beatrice Doris Stevens from drowning at New Brighton on February 14, 1932, framed certificate; James Leonard Johnson, aged 36, who rescued Reginald Adolph Grim wood from drowning in the Waitaki River, August 6, 1932, bronze medal.
