SUVA, October 27.

The leading social club, the Fiji Club, appeared, through its secretary, m the Police Court recently on a charge of supplying a case of whisky to a member living at Tavenui, for consumption off the premises. It'has lon<* been a custom of members to obtain liquor from the club for uee in their own homes. On this occasion tne police seized a case on board a ketch ready to sail. . . In giving his decision the magistrate said: "Many interesting points have been raised in this caee, not the least interesting of which is that certain liquor was seized on the wharf and opened, under an authority which I am unable to find." He eaid that a technical offence had been committed and fined tie defendant one shilling. . <
