Mr. H. R. Jenkins went to Wellington by List night's Limited. Mr. A. M. Seaman, president of the Auckland' Chamber of Commerce, is visiting Wellington. Sir George Elliot and Mr. Oliver Nicholson will be passengers Wellington by the Limited this evening. Mr. A. H. Cockayne, assistantDirector of Agriculture, is visiting Auckland. He is at the Station Hotel. Mr. R. H. P. Eonayne, district Public Works engineer at Masterton, has been transferred on promotion to the Whangarei district. Mr. W. J. Holilsworth will leave for Wellington this evening to attend a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board. Mr. A. R. Lewis, general manager in New Zealand for the Rover Motor-car Company, loaves by the Niagara this evening for Sydney. Mr. Spencer Mason, past president of the Auckland Aero Club, leaves for Wellington this evening to attend a meeting of tlie New Zealand Aero Club as Auckland's representative. Mr. T. P. Gilfedder, secretary of the Devonport Welfare Association, was yesterday presented with a gold-mounted fountain pen by the executive, in appreciation of his services since the inception of the association. The Mayor of Devonport, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, made the presentation. Professor P. W. Burbidge, of Auckland University College, who has been awarded a travelling fellowship by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, leaves' by the Niagara this evening for Sydney on his way to England. He will also take his sabbatical year's leave. A considerable part of his time will be spent at Cambridge, where he formerly studied under Lord Rutherford.
