DESTRUCTIVE GALE.
WABKWORTH VISITATION. FARM PROPERTIES DAMAGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WARKWORTH, Tuesday. A gale of cyclonic force did considerable damage between Warkwortli and Maliurangi Heads about 9.30 yesterday forenoon; It caine over the ridge near Snell's Beach, left a trail of damage and swept out to sea. The roof was lifted off Mr. Percy Dawson's cowshed and carried a distance of over GOO yards. Several iron tanks on the farm of Mr. F. Goodall were blown a mile and a half away. Numbers of-trees were blown down—pinus insignia, willows, kowhai and pohutukawa. Crops over a width of 300 yards were flattened. Mr. Ijolly was in a shed on his farm when he heard the roar of the gale. Running to the door he saw that the air was full of flying boughs, mangrove branches and timber, and was caught by the wind and flunjr over a fence. The gale also did damage on the property of Messrs. A. L. and W. F. McElroy. No cases of personal injury have been reported.
