FATAL RIOTING.
Unemployed Melee in
Chicago.
DETECTIVE'S SHOOTING,
CHICAGO, October 7.
A party of police, in an attempt to quell a riot by the unemployed before the Unemployment Relief Station yesterday, shot and killed one rioter. They arrested six others'. Two policemen were injured with iron pipes.
A detective admitted the shooting. He said he was kicked and pushed against a wall and fired three times in selfdefence.
