Flattering Testimony to Taste
Of Prince of Wales. "TAILOR AND CUTTER'S" VIEWS (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. "The Prince of Wales is the first 'arbiter Elegantiarum' who ever dressed to please - himself, with no thought of playing a part or striking an attitude," says the "Tailor and* Cutter." "Where the. famous 'Beaux Dandies' of other days ruled fashion by posing and strutting, the Prince - goes through life with gay insouciance, and mirrors the spirit of the age by his liking for comfort in clothes and a distaste for the stiff and pompous.
"His jackets combine 'elegance and ease. Nobody has done more to kill the constricted waist and banish the effect of corsetry. He has given a variety to men's hats, more latitude in shirts, and has almost given the quietus to white collars with lounge suits."
