IRAQ CONGRATULATED

Cordial Relationship With Britain. MEMBERSHIP OF LEAGUE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 6. King George sent the following congratulatory telegram to King Feisal of Iraq: — "I have learnt with the greatest pleasure of the admission of Iraq to membership of the League of Nations and I hasten to offer my warm congratulations on this most auspicious event, which I trust will bo followed by the increasing prosperity of your kingdom and a further strengthening of the cordial friendship existing between our two countries."

King Feisal, in acknowledging the message, says: "J avail myself of this opportunity to extend to Your Majesty my most sincere gratitude for the valuable assistance which we have received throughout past years from Your Majesty and your people, which I regard as the chief factor in the attainment of our present status. We will always remember your acts of favour and wish Your Majesty's Royal Family and people prosperity and welfare." The British Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, in a congratulatory telegram to Jafal Pasha, Iraq Minister of Foreign Affairs, says the British Government looks forward with confidence to close and cordial co-operation between the two Governments in their new relationship.
