DANGER OVER.
DISRUPTED EMPIRE. SUCCESS AT OTTAWA. Chamberlain's Reply to Critics Of Agreements. DAWN OF NEW ERA. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 12.30 p.ni.) LONDON, October G. "I believe that a grave danger was averted at Ottawa," declared Mr. Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of the Exchequer, at the Conservative Conference at Blackpool. "Before the Ottawa Conference Empire ties were frayed and there was a possibility of disruption." He vigorously attacked Sir Herbert Samuel's broadcast, which was "peculiarly discreditable electioneering and exploitation of class feeling, stimulating fears among the ignorant. "I regret that Empire relations and Ottawa have been misrepresented and made the sport of party passions. There was never a more harmonious team than the British delegation, which unanimously approved of every conclusion. "I claim that Ottawa was the crowning achievement of a year of wonderful endeavour, and I believe the majority of Britons consider it to be the beginning of a new era."
