HORSE FLOAT CRASH.

COLLISION WITH TRAIN. RACERS AND TRAINERS ESCAPE. PARTY FROM TRENTHAM. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, this day. A horse float containing three Trentham horses collided with the Welling-ton-Palmerston train at the Paekakariki crossing this morning, but fortunately neither horses nor occupants were injured. The brakes had been applied both to the float and train, which had almost pulled up at the moment of the collision. The horses in the float were Gay Court, Araios and Late Jest, who soon recovered from their fright. The trainers, Messrs. H. Benge and A. Palmer, were also travelling in the float.
