Mr. J. B. Donald and Mr. J. Donald, of Auckland, returned from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. The Rev. J. D. MacFarlane, who ha 3 been appointed to the charge of Waipu, North Island, will resign from the Waikato Presbytery. Mr. T. G. Muntz, acting-British Trade Commissioner in Wellington, and Mrs. Muntz leave for the South by the Limited this evening. Mr. G.. T. Wilson, railway district traffic manager in Auckland, is expected to return to Auckland this afternoon from a business visit to stations on the North line. Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer commanding the Northern Command, who lias been to Wellington on official business, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. The Rev. James Milne, M.A., has handed ill his resignation of the Thames charge to the Waikato Presbytery. He has been in charge of Thames for the past 24 years. On the motion of Mr. E. H. Nortlicroft, in the Supreme Court to-day, Mr. Harold Wilfred Youren was admitted as a barrister and solicitor by the Hon. Mr. Justice Smith. Mr. G. A. Lee, of Auckland, who has been on a tour of inspection of the goldmining areas on the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers, Central Otago, returned to Auckland yesterday. Mr. E. J. R. Cumming, ex-Commis-sioner of Taxes, leaves for Sydney by the Maunganui from Wellington this afternoon. . He will probably spend several months in Australia. Mr. P. Burgess, au English tourist, returned to Auckland from Norfolk Island by the Morinda this morning. He intends to remain in New Zealand for several months, and will spend sonio time trout fishing at Rotorua. Mr. G. W. Rcid, of Dunedin, who represented New Zealand manufacturing interests at the Ottawa Conference, was presented with a handsome grandfather clock at the annual conference of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation in Wellington this week. Mr. S. Takle, president of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, Mr. A. W. Parker, a member, and Mr. J. Findlay, secretary of the organisation, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. They attended the annual conference of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation. Mr. J. Elliott, national executive officer of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, ana a member of tlie Kailwavs Superannuation Board, left by the express yesterday for Wellington. He will give evidence before the Select Committee of the House of Representatives on the Public Service Amendment Bill.
