HELP FROM ART UNION.

WAIKATO A. AND P. SOCIETY.

SHARE OF £1000 PROMISED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Advice that the Waikato A. and P. Association would receive £1000 from the next alluvial gold art union, was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs by the general committee of the association to-day.

The president, Mr. H. Windsor, remarked that the money would prove of great assistance and* would enable the aesociation to liquidate various liabilities.

It was decided to support, a request from the Royal Agricultural Society demanding a. reduction in railway freights for the carriage of live stock.
