RATANA REVIVAL.
IN CAPITAL CITY. PREACHING, MUSIC AND DANCING. POLITICAL SIGNIFICANCE* (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, tihie day. The Maori "prophet," Ratana, -with a foand, a number of ibis clergy and followers, is holding a revival gathering at Lyall Bay, -where tihe doings of the party during the last few days have created much interest among residents, and particularly the children of Lyall Bay School, whirih is neariby.
Ratana and Ms immediate followers, some in blue and white etriped sweaters with the word "Ratana" across the front, frequently give performances and hold services in the grounds of a residence which <they are occupying, that of the late Hon. Te Heu Heu Tukino. Ministers preaoh, the. 'brass band plays, and girls do poi dances and ihakas.
It is understood that the presence of Ratana and his party in Wellington at the present time has a political significance.
