DIAMOND TRADE.
BUSINESS ON THE BOOM.
LONDON, October 5.
Better times are coming if the old saying of diamond dealers is correct, namely: "If the stone goes well all goes well." Ninety per cent of the world's diamond trade passee through London, and, according to an expert interviewed by a representative of the "Daily Express," there ie a tendency to big sales.
British manufacturing jewellers are re-engaging employees and more than 15,000 diamond cutters are working at Antwerp and Amsterdam at increased wages. The prices of diamonds are rising, and if the demand continues there is a likelihood of mines in South Africa being reopened.
