REFEREES V. GRAMMAR.
A welcome change tvns provided in the programnie at Rcmuera 011 Saturday, when the local referee association's team met the Auckland Grammar School, winners of the third grade championship, knockout competition, and Junior Cup. The game was brimful of incident and the many spectators on the sideline were provided with much humour. The referees were first to score, Preston doing the trick after a snappy attack. Grammar soon equalised through the agency of Houghton. In the second spell Grammar put on four more goals, Koughton 3. Twigdon 1. The referees made strenuous efforts to score in the closing stages, but badly lacked direction in their shooting, despite openings ljtft them. The final scores read Grammar 5, lieferees 1. Messrs, Vipond and F. Nicholson referced.
