RAANI CLUB.

The Raani Tennis Club, Balmoral, opened its 1932-3 season on Saturday. The president, Mr. C. J. C. Mollcr, for the information of new members, spoke of the past performances of the club, which last season won the championship of the Auckland Minor Clubs' Hard Courts Association. Mr. Moller also stated that competition in the association promised to be very keen this season, and he expressed the hope that the games would be played in the same spirit of friendly rivalry as existed last season. During the afternoon trophies won In the club's own competitions last season were presented. The winners were :—Championships : Men's singles, Mr. Moller: ladles' singles, Mrs. Cron; tneu's doubles, Messrs. Moller and Cron : ladies' doubles. Misses R. Moller and McCullagh; combined doubles, Mr. Molr and Miss R. Moller. Handicaps: Men's singles. Mr. Moller; men's doubles, Messrs. Gott and Markwick; combined, Mr. Moir iind Miss Auld. The officers of Raani for the new season are:—President, Mr.l Moller: captain. Mr. Moller: vice-captain, Mr. Markwick; secretary, Mr. Walker; general committee, Mr. Moller. Mr. Markwick, Mr. Walker, Mrs. Howell. Miss McCullagh and Miss Diamond; selection committee, Messrs. Moller, Markwick and Paull.
