FIXTURES. October 8.—30 1-5 Mile Senior, 14 J Mile October^.—Return Visit to Tamakl Club. ; Senior and Junior Challenge Kuces. In spite of the inclement -weather con- : ditions last Saturday, a good field of. 17 riders faced the starter in the. club's out-and-home race, held over a course of -23% miles, from Takapuna to Albany and back, and including one lap of tho usual circuit round the lake. The fight for second place was one of the best seen for eome time. Thd duelliste were senior G. Williams arid junior ehampionß. Evans. Ten yards from the finish Williams had a lead of about a ■wheel, but with a remarkably fine effort for one of such tender years, Evans jumped his machine forward at the last second, .to .break even with his big rival. Evans was fiucceesful £n gaining second place in the previous race over this course, and his performance froni a harder mark, 4.0, was something of which he may well be proud.

CK Williams, from a handicap of 1.0, Toderhie best race to date. Riding with excellent judgment he was successful not only in dead-heating for second place, but also defeating Blomfield for the first time in eleven club races, for the fastest time ■honours. His time, 67.47, was 13s better tnan that of Blomfield, and reduced the previous record by 6.43

Blomfield, who started on hie own from scratch, rode his usual good race, but +w no KS» tch the fl y in s W man. His time was 68.0, second fastest. Fourth place 40 , - b £ f oß ' Colem '™> also from 4.0, who finished two lengths behind the second, pair, with a time of 40.48.
