AT TAKANINI.

GREEK GOLD IMPRESSES. GAY SHIELA DISPLAYS SPEED. The outside grass track wae used for faet work at Takanini this morning. The going was inclined to be heavy and cut out a little.

Gold Pocket (Jonee) and Expectancy (Gilmer) were on terms at the conclusion of a nicely run three furlongs in 37 3-ss. Bugle Call (Griee) and Helium (Fearn) ran the last six furlongs of their work in 1.23 4-5. Tea Trader (Walters) worked over a round, being picked up by High Comedy (Edwards) at the sixfurlong post. The pace was not on all the way, and they covered the last three furlongs in 425. Greek Gold (Taylor) and Prolyxo (Moore) were eight lengths clear of Holly Lu (Jones) at the finish of six furlongs in 1.17 4-5, the first three taking 375. The firet-named pair went very well, particularly Greek Gold. Palace (Gray) worked over six furlongs in 1.24 ,2-5. He was -aot asked to do hie best, though he ran- the last three furlongs in 39 3-ss. Royal Artist (Walters) worked over { a mile and a quarter, being picked up by Speedmint (Edwards) at the sixfurlong poet. The full distance took 2.23 3-5, the last mile 1.53, and the last six 'furlongs 1.21. Royal Artist was assisted over the first half mile by Lady Carrington (Grice). Arch Ruler (Forsyth) and Great Emblem (L. Manson) were on terms at the finish of seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5, the last six taking 1.20 3-5. Chief Joy . (Gray) worked over a mile and a half, finishing strongly over the last three furlongs, which .took 42 i-se'.

Imperial. Prince (Jones) and Exaggeration (Gilmer) were responsible for a nice effort over five furlongs, which they 'accomplished in 1.4 3-5. Pillow Fight (Gray) concluded hie work by running three ~■ furlongs in 425. . Eldora (L. 'Mansori), Foulwind (Mclnally), and Marjnorate* (Forsyth) were in that order with a couple of lengths between them at the conclusion of half a mile in 52 4-ss. Foulwind got the worst of the start and went very pleasingly. Miss Rewa (Crowley) did not impress while running five furlonge in 1.9. Gay Shiela : (Edwards) and Star Artist (Walters) ran three furlongs, from the six-furlong post to the_ three, in"36 4-ss, finishing together. Thespis (McFarlane), with Bell Topper (Gray) as; a companion over the last seven furlonge, ran a mile in 1.47 3-5, the first five taking 1.5 3-5. Prince of Orange (Walters) and Lord Willonyx (Forsyth) were .together at the end of half a mile in 525. Huntingdon (Clifford) was given an easy, five furlongs, occupying 1.8. The Paper Money—Vicereine colt (Mclnally) jumped out several lengths clear of Tat■yoon (Gray) and was a length in front at the end of half a mile in 525, Tatyoon taking 51s.

RACEHORSES COLLIDE.

SYDNEY, September 30. On the Randwick tracks to-day the much-discussed Epsom Handicap candidate Rogilla collided with another horse. The jockey D. Munro was hurled against a.' poet and suffered concussion. His condition is however not serious. Rogilla trotted on the grass in the afternoon and after a consultation between the owner and a veterinary surgeon, it was announced that the animal appeared to be unhurt and that he would start in the Epsom to-iaorrow. The accident happened while Rogilla was doing his final gallop on the grass track.» The other, horse Rich Lonsdale, entering the track, cannoned against Rogilla and both fell.
