DOMAIN DRIVE.

. PARKING OF CARS. SUITABLE AREA SUGGESTED. Pointing out that in regard to the parking of cars in the Domain it was necessary to provide for cars' left unattended, the town clerk and deputy chief traffic inspector, in a joint report to the City Council last evening, suggested that consideration might be given at a later date to the desirability of providing a parking area in the vicinity of the winter gardens and tennis courts. The area suggested was that formerly used as an experimental plot on the top of the hill at the back of the winter gardens. A large proportion of the persons visiting the museum, winter gardens, tea kiosk and tennis courts were conveyed in cars, and as the roadway from the Domain Drive to Stanley Street was of a winding nature, to allow cars to stop on that part of the drive would be a source of danger. It was recommended that a suitable section be inserted in. the by-laws making it an offence for vehicles to remain stationary unless compelled to do so by accident. The report was adopted.
