FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS.

TECHNICAL COLLEGE GROUNDS. Permission was granted the Education Board last night to construct a retaining wall on the lip of the old scoria pit in Epsom Avenue fronting the Training College. The wall is to be placed in such a position as will permit of the formation of a 10-foot footpath. The city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, who recommended that the request made by the Education Board be granted, said the board had in view the improving of 'the Epsom Avenue front grounds occupied by the Training College, and the erection of the wall would facilitate the scheme of permanently improving the conditions in the locality.
