£4000 FOR CHARITY.

BANK OF NEW ZEALAND. AUCKLAND'S SHARE, £1250. The directors of the Bank of NewZealand have allocated the sum of £4000 which they previously decided to give for distribution amongst organisations administering to the relief of women and children in distress. The amount allocated to the Auckland branch wa3 £1250, all of which has been distributed among 24 local organisations, to be used solely for assisting needy women and children. This is the first time that the directors of the Bank of New Zealand have given assistance of this sort, it being considered that present conditions warrant it.
