RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-sixth annual meeting of the Richmond Cruising Club was held last evening in the recently enlarged clubhouse, Sloan's Beach, Ponsonby, Mr. T. L. Thompson presiding over a record attendance. The report, presented by the lion, secretary, Mr. L. S. Gribble, stated that the past season had been a good one, both for racing and the tvork done to the clubhouse, which was now valued at £300, and was free of debt. Four days of racing were held, the regatta being a great success, fifty-four boats competing, all prizes being cash. The thanks of the club were due to their officers and committee for the satisfactory position the club was in, special thanks beingolue to Mr. Ivo Dennes for the success ho made of the art union in aid of clubhouse funds. The balance-sheet showed receipts at £71 3/3, with a"credit balance of £ 07. The assets were valued at £ 367, and liabilities nil.
Moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the patron, Mr. Jas. Donald, congratulated the club on its good financial position, and he paid a tribute to the work of the commodore, Mr. Thompson. This was supported by Messrs. Jas. Longbottom, Geo. Smith and E. Newbold.
The following officers were elected for the coming seasoii : Patron, Mr. W. J. Holdswortli; vice-patron, Mr. Jas. Longbottom; president, Mr. J. Donald; commodore. Mr. T. L. Thompson ; vice, Mr. Vince Hogan ; rear, Mr. G. F. Bellve; lion, secretary. Mr. L. S. Gribble; lion, treasurer, Mr. Ivo Dennes ; clubhouse captain, Mr. G. Hum by ; assistant, Mr. C. Lindrum; auditors, Messrs. J. Longbottom and F. Downs; delegates to Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs. Geo. 13. La.vcock and R. Judd : committee, Messrs. T. Bell, G. Smith, C. BroA-n, L. Phillpot, Eon Judd, D. McLaughlin.
The recommendation of tha committee that Mr. Ivo Dennes be elected a life member was adopted, Mr. Dennes ■acknowledging the honour.
Mr. J. Donald donated a clock for the clubhouse, and Mr. G. F. Bellve presented a cup to be competed for by the V class. Both donors were thanked. Twelve new members were elected. It was decided to bold a general meeting on October 4, when the racing officials will be elected.
A vote of thanks to the Press closed the business.
