CHAMPION TOURNEY.

The second round in the champion snooker tourney was continued at the Central Billiards Saloon Inst evening, when two very interesting matches were witnessed. In the first M. Yates defeated J. Rawson by two frames to one, the scores being .'!7—6.1, 68—44, 80—15.' Yates proved a splendid tactician, nnd potted well when opportunities came his way. Rawson also played well. C. Bioomfield beat S. 'Wntson, 54—?,P>, OP—64. Bloomfleld is one of the finest nlayere In Auckland, and treated onlookers to a delightful exhibition of clean potting. In his present form ho will prove very difficult to beat The tournament will bo continued ■on Monday night, when Myers will play King; and Roso meets smith. .
