CATHOLIC LEAGUE.
The annual meeting of the league took place recently at the league rooms, a large number of members being present. The following officers and council were elected for the ensuing- year: —President, Mrs. Pilling; vice-presidents, Mesdames Buxton, Cruickshank, O'Leary, J. J. O'Brien and D. Tole; lion, treasurer, Miss' A. Fouhy; lion, assistant secretary, Miss M. Ormonde; council, Mesdames Hansen, Maguire, H. Wright, S. Garland, Josephs, H. Hamilton-Smith, C. Stichbury, Misses E. Browne, A. Fitzpatrick and P. Flynn. Bishop Liston and Monsignor Cahfll, patron and chapplain of the league, were present, and spoke very appreciatively of the great amount of work accomplished in tho first year of the league's existence. The secretary read the monthly report of league activities, and reported a gratifying increase of membership. The conveners for the various stalls for the. coming fair then spent a busy evening enrolling assistants and planning work in connection with the fair.
