"CAT" BURGLAR SUSPECT.
POLICE OBTAIN KEMAND. OTHER CHARGES PENDING. Suspected by the police of having been concerned in several of the "cat" burglaries committed in the city recently, Reginald Gordon Cotterill, aged 21, motor driver, appeared before Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. He was charged with breaking and entering the premises of the Victoria Insurance Company, Shortland Street, on August 17, and stealing four keys, a wristlet watch and 3/4, of a total value of £4. "Cotterill will be further charged with other offences—robberies from other offices," said Detective Sergeant Kelly, in obtaining a remand until September 10. Bail was not sought.
