Mr. 0. Nicholson, of Auckland, is in Wellington, and will return to-morrow. Sir Edwin and Lady Mitchelson returned from Wellington this morning. Mr. J. Fuller will leave for the South to-night, and expects to be back 011 September 12. Mr. G. J. Hollis took up liis duties as internal auditor at Wellington to-da/ in the City Corporation service. The Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, Minister of Native Affairs, was a passenger to Auckland this morning by. train. Sir William Hunt has been appointed stock and station agents' representative on the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. Mr. H. 0. Nolan, president of the Auckland Racing Club, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited express. _ Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden, and Mr. H. M. Rushwortli, M.P. for Bay of Islands, were passengers to the city this morning. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board, returned from Wellington this morning. He has been attending a meeting of the Local Government Loans BoardMr. E. J. R. Cumming, Commissioner of Taxes, who is retiring from the Public Service, was farewelled yesterday j at Wellington. Mr. C. E. Dowland, deouty-Commissioner of Taxes, made a ' presentation to Mr. Cumming on behalf of the Department's staff, and spoke of ; the work Mr. Cumming had done.
