HOCKEY REFEREES.
The sixth general meeting of the Auckland Hockey Referees' Association was held last evening in the Scots Hall, when the president, Mr. 11. E. Watts, presided over a record attendance of members.
Seven new members were elected, sub ject to the rules of the association.
A letter from the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association conveyed their thanks for the manner in which referees carried jut their duties during country week.
I After the close of routine business Mr. E. J. Hewitt, the assistant examiner, tool; charge of the meeting, when ten members were tested for their theory examination. They were required to answer six problems dealing with the offside rule, and 77 questions dealing with the whole rule book. The results will be announced after the papers have been marked and classified.
