Due to the bung of a large tar barrel falling out, the entire contents were destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon on the road in King George Avenue. The Remuera Fire Brigade were called to the scene, and succeeded in suppressing the outbreak, which assumed fairly large proportions, due to the burning tar running and spreading over the roadway.
