PROVINCIAL AERO CLUBS.
three waikato centres. PROPOSAL AT CONFERENCE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, Friday.. , Members of the Auckland Aero Club attended a conference here, at which the Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, presided. Suitable landing grounds and the training of flying pupils were discussed. Mr. Boucher, of Auckland, stated the aim of the Auckland Club in establishing country aerodromes. They had in view a chain of clubs in the Central Waikato, [say in Hamilton, Morrinsville and Te Aroha. This would mean a powerful organisation in-the country, which would jointly own a 'plane if it was found impossible to own one separately. It would also open up country centres to Auckland pilots, and enable cross-country flights to be made by solo pupils. The Auckland delegates undertook to draw up a basis for affiliation and submit it to the Te Aroha Club for approval. : At a meeting of the local committee it was decided to make arrangements for the first annual ball, and to invite Sir Charley Kingsford Smith to visit Te Aroha at the same time.
