An evening entertainment In aid of the Methodist Church trust funds was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley W. Cato. Musical items and parlour games were indulged in, Mrs. Cato making an excellent hostess. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of the Rev. W. Sussex was accorded Mr. and Mrs. Cato for their hospitality.

A remarkable escape from Injury was made by the occupants of a car -which left the road and went over a bank at Julian's Mistake, a hairpin bend on the Awakino Road, on Sunday night. The weather conditions made visibility very bad, and the car, during a 'heavy fog, going too near the edge, overturned. Luckily a fence half-way down the embankment held the car, wheels }n air. The car was damaged, but the passengers received nothing worse than shock.
