"USELESS TO ADJOURN."

PRIVATE HOTEL WORKERS' CASE. EMPLOYERS' STATEMENT. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. After private collaboration to-day in the Dominion private hotel workers' dispute in the conciliation council, the employers' assessors stated that owing to practically no change being made from the award in the workers' amended proposals they considered it useless to adjourn. The motion to refer the dispute to the Arbitration Court was lost each side solidly voting against the other. Finally, on the casting vote of the commissioner, it was decided to adjourn proceedings until August 10, largely on account of the suggestion that failure in the private hotels case would prejudice any possible agreement in the licensed hotels case, set down for hearing to-morrow.
