TOURIST BUSINESS.
ADDRESS ON NEW ZEALAND. (Received 12.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, this day. An enthusiastic audience of 500 prospective tourists for New Zealand were entertained at Cairns at a graphic lecture concerning New Zealand's scenic attractions by Mr. L. M. Schrnitt, the New Zealand Trade Commissioner, who was introduced by the Mayor, Mr. Collins. The opinion of the audience was that the lecture was the most interesting and informative ever delivered in this district. WHEAT SHIP HOME. POMMERN AT QUEENSTOWN. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Ju'.y 7. The Finnish four-masted barque Pommern (2114 tons, Captain Granith). which left Port Germein, South Australia, on February 21 with a cargo of wheat for Britain and the Continent, has arrived at Queenstown, Ireland, after a voyage of 129 days. On Tuesday she was reported to have met and eonversed with the British steamer Winnebago 212 miles west of the Scilly Islands. TRIONA'S DEPARTURE. MAGISTERIAL INQUIRY. SUVA, July 7. The British Phosphate Commissioner's vessel Triona, which stranded at the entrance to Suva harbour yesterday, after being refloated, left for Ocean Island this evening. A magisterial inquiry was held this afternoon into the cause of the stranding. Judjiir.cut v.'ii.i deferred till Tuesday, but. the Court intimated that it had no intention of suspending the master's certificate.
