DENTAL CLINIC TREATMENT.
CHILDREN AGED FIVE. INTIMATION TO PARENTS. It was announced recently that children of the age of five years, who normally would have attended school at that age, will be eligible for treatment under the school dental ■ clinic system. Mr. F. B. Rice, officer in charge of children's dental hygiene in Auckland, explained to-day that parents, who would, before the echool age was raised, have brought their small sons and daughters of five years of age. to the clinics, were now still allowed to do so. They would be given the same treatment as they would have received if they had attended school. Mr. Rice said that for the initial treatment only the children in the primer classes were eligible. If parents took the opportunity of having their children treated by the officers in the dental clinic in the district while in the primers, they were eligible for treatment up to Standard IV. But if children did not receive treatment while in the primers they were not eligible for treatment in the standards.
