FARMERS' INTERESTS.

THE EXCHANGE POOL COMMANDEERING EXPORTS. LIABILITY OF MORTGAGORS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Farmers' Union to-day adopted the following remit without discussion: "That exchange on a national basis is the property of the exporter or importer, and, as such, should be beyond the right of interference by the Government; also that exports should not be commandeered unless in such a state of national neceesity that all services and property are taken over by the nation." A novel proposal was contained in the following remit moved by Mr. T. Currie (Wanganui): "That this conference is of opinion that liability of mortgagors or tenants to their mortgagees or landlords should be in exact ratio to the current market value of produce and stock, or both, for the time being." It was agreed to r?fer the proposal to the executive. Another remit urged the Government to consider ways and means of making more secure farmers' equities.
